08/17/04 Breaststroke Kick Practice

Just going easy today after a swim meet.

WARMUP: 400
With fins. Alternate 25 fly drill/25 back drill/25 breast drill for 300 yards, making the drills more complex on each round, then finish with 100 freestyle.

MAIN SET: 1000
Swim 5 rounds of the following, and descend time on each round:
100 Breast Kick with a board on 2:15 (Descended 2:00 to 1:45.)
100 with pull buoy, swum as 25 head-lead breast kick on back/25 hand-lead breast kick on back/25 breast kick on back with arms held out of the water/25 breast on 2:30 (Descended 2:07 to 1:59.)

PULL SET: 400
With pull buoy, swim 1 X 400 freestyle.
Odd lengths: breathe as much as you want.
Even lengths: breathe 2 – 3 – 4 – 5 – 6 – 7 – 8 – 9, by 50.

WARMDOWN: 200
