I’m in my hometown of Wooster, Ohio, this weekend to visit my Dad, and this means that I get to swim in the FABULOUS high school pool (50m indoors, set up for 8 lanes of 25-yard swimming). I went for a swim at 1 pm and was the only one in the pool. It doesn’t get any better for zoning out and zoning in.
WARMUP: 2000
With Zura Alpha Fins, swim continuously through:
150 FL/BK/BR Head-Lead Drills, then 100 BK
150 FL/BK/BR Hand-Lead Drills, then 25 FR/75 BK
150 FL/BK/BR Single-Arm Drills, then 50/50
150 FL/Bk/BR 2L/2R Drills, then 75/25
150 FL/Bk/BR Combo Drills, then 100 FR
With no equipment:
250 Breast kick in all positions, focusing on drawing up the feet
MAIN SET: 1000 equivalent
With long-belt tether, swim twice through the following:
30 Head-Lead breast kicks, the 20 Hand-Lead breast kicks, then swim to the wall, turn, and swim back assisted, focus on drawing up the feet throughout.
Add a pull buoy for 60 EZ strokes freestyle
With long-belt tether, swim twice through the following:
50 breast with the tether (25 resisted/25 assisted), focus on drawing up the feet
Add a pull buoy for 60 EZ strokes freestyle
SWIM SET: 100
4 X 25 breaststroke on :30 sendoff. Focus on drawing up the feet and dolphin pullout. [went about:20 on these]
WARMDOWN: 100 EZ FR/BK
Total Yardage : approx 3200 equivalent
