This drill just might be the toughest and most fun half length youve ever swum. Video will come later.
Why Do It:
Because its fun and because its your birthday. The birthday swim quickly became a tradition with our team, and it didnt take long for the kids to start trying to set a record for the most number of times they could swim the gauntlet. So far, our record is 4. This has been a great way to build team spirit and unity.
How To Do It:
1.Everyone except the birthday swimmer grabs a kickboard and lines up on either side of the lane.
2.The swimmers use the kickboards to create a little wave action in the lane.
3. When the waves are looking good, the birthday swimmer pushes off and swims through the middle. Repeat.
How To Do It Really Well (the Fine Points):
Streamline and dont breathe!
