03/21/06 Breaststroke Taper Practice

Had only 45 minutes to do a taper practice for the New England Champs this weekend.

50 Hand-Lead Dolphin Kick
50 Hand-Lead Flutter Kick
50 Hand-Lead Breast Kick
200 Free/Back
250 EZ Breast Kick in all positions

MAIN SET: 1000
1 X 200 Breast at about 85% effort. Tried to stay relaxed on the swimming, but intense on the turns. Took 7 strokes/length first 100, then 8 s/l next 50, then 9, then 10. [3:09]

1 X 100 Free at about 80%, holding breathing pattern I will use in the race. [1:20, yes, it’s embarrassing that my freestyle is almost the same speed as my breaststroke]
