04/05/06 Tether, Kick, and Scull Practice

Did this in a 20-yard pool.

WARMUP: 1000
With Zura Alpha fins, twice through:
40 dolphin kick stomach
40 flutter kick
40 dolphin kick back
200 free/back

200 EZ breast kick in all positions

With pull buoy:
160 scull IM (40 yards sculling in each stroke)

TETHER SET: 840 (equivalent)
Three rounds of the following, with 10 bobs between each interval. Was trying to see how little splash I could make with head and shoulders on the kicking parts.

With long-belt slider:
* Push off, pulldown, 30 head-lead breast kicks, 30 hand-lead breast kicks, turn, swim back assisted.
* 2 X 40 breast with tether (20 resisted/20 assisted).

SCULL SET: 160
With pull buoy:
160 scull IM

KICK SET: 400
10 X 40 kick with 5 Rocket Launchers before each 40.
Alternated 2 X 40 breast kick and 2 X 40 flutter kick. Alternated between underwater kick, Zura SideKick, and pull buoy.

PULL SET: 200
200 freestyle pull with pull bouy, breathing every 2/5/3 per length

PULLDOWN SET: 200
10 X 20 with 4 bobs recovery between each 20.
Odds: Double pull down with downward dolphin kick
Evens: Regular pull down
Focus was powering the first full stroke and getting right back to streamline.
