The Dave Denniston Relay Event is a fundraiser, hosted this year at El Toro High School, which donates 100% of all profits to the National Transplant Assistance Fund, a non-profit organization that provides financial and educational aid to spinal-cord-injury patients. Contributors will be helping not only Dave, but also others like him who have one major goal in common and that is to WALK again!
This fundraiser is a day of excitment! Creating memories to last a lifetime.
There will be a DJ, not just an announcer. Anyone can swim, from coaches and parents to age group swimmers (no pets!). Several Olympic swimmers will be there to sign autographs and swim in the relays with and against the other swimmers.
The format is set up so that the "Olympians" do a 400 medley relay and a 400 free relay. The goal of the day is for ANYONE to put together a relay of up to 8 people to beat their time.
Then there’s the fun relays: Intertube Relays. Noodle Relays. T-shirt Relays and this year for the first time ever: a Sprite Relay.
We will have 2 relays composed of 4 Olympic athletes. You will have the opportunity to put together a relay team with a max of 8 people to try and beat their final time! The relay team that finishes with the fastest time will all receive a Dave Denniston Relay "I beat the Olympians" trophy.
In between the Olympian relays we will have some fun relays where you can sign up to swim with your favorite Olympic Athlete.
The day will include:
• Fun & Wacky relays (day of sign-up ONLY)
• Music and MC all day
• Raffle prizes
• Meet Olympians/Autograph Session
• Lunch available for purchase
• Vendor Booths
*Pancake Breakfast (complimentary for participants, $3 for non-participants)
**Participants raising a minimum of $50 will receive an event T-shirt and 3 raffle tickets to enter to win some great prizes. For each additional $50, swimmers will receive 3 tickets.
(Raffle tickets will also be available for purchase on the day of the event.)
