ROME: Aaron Peirsol Takes Gold and Takes Down His Own WR in the 200 Back

ROME:  Minutes ago, Aaron Peirsol became the first swimmer to go under 1:52 in the 200 back… at the 13th FINA World Championships.  Aaron’s time of 1:51.92 eclipsed his own WR of 1:53.0 by more than a second.   His splits:  26.52… 54.90 (28.38)… 1:23.30 (28.40)… 1:51.92 (28.62).    Aaron bested an incredible field, including Ryosuke Irie (2nd), and Ryan Lochte (3rd).

Congrats to Aaron!
