Main Set Tuesday – January 11, 2011

Long week, and looking forward to a day off tomorrow.  🙂

This morning had a couple more main sets, but the one that involved planning and a lot of mental attention was the following (long course meters):

• 3 x 200 free on 3:00
• 1 x 100 back on 1:40
• 3 x 200 free on 2:45
• 1 x 100 back on 1:40
• 3 x 200 free on 2:30
• 1 x 100 back on 1:40

The idea was to swim the first 6 x 200’s as smoothly and easily as possible and save up for the final three, which would basically be a 600 fast with maybe a gasp of air between the intervals.  I have to admit… I didn’t make the 2:30, but added a few seconds so I could grab that gasp.  Maybe next week I’ll be able to make them.  Step by step.
