Ouch on the legs this morning. I personally don’t think people kick enough, so this was great to see.
It’s very important to watch the clock and do exactly what the coach asks on sets like this. While the interval is pretty easy, to complete the set exactly as given makes it so you’ll need the extra rest. For me… this was a lot of breaststroke kick, and it was a long walk home.
Main Set (long course meters):
• 4 x 300 kick on 6:00
Sounds easy… but there were two goals… descend the 4 300’s in overall time… and descend each 100 within each 300.
That meant you start with a pretty slow 100, then the 2nd 100 must be faster, then the 3rd 100 has to be the fastest of the 300. Then the overall time of each 300 has to get faster as well.
You should use the same kick through the entire set to really overload the legs.
