Main Set Wednesday – Hit Your Pace

This set grows on you pretty quickly, and keeping the full set from the group makes it even tougher on them. (Insert evil coach smirk here)

This is a set that you give out in pieces so the swimmers create their own challenge.  Good luck to all.

Main Set (short course yards):
 – 8 x 50 on :55 – descend 1-4, 5-8.  Get all of your times, from slow to fast, and remember them.

Give them a little break, make sure the swimmers all know their times… then…
 – 8 x 50 on :50 – descend 1-4, 5-8.  Hit the exact same times as the 1st set.

Find out the times, and see if they’ve caught on to the pattern yet.
 – 8 x 50 on :45 – descend 1-4, 5-8.  Yep… same times again.

Well… they’ve certainly caught on by now, and are only interested in how many more times they’ll have to do it.  Mostly because they may have gone too slow on the 1st 50 to even make the interval now.
 – 8 x 50 on :40 – descend 1-4, 5-8.  Same times.
