03/18/04 Breaststroke 50-minute Taper Practice
Today’s Thursday. I’ve got a meet tomorrow night (400 IM) and on Saturday (3 breaststroke events). I wanted to go easy today but still do some fast lengths.
WARMUP: 800
With fins. Two 400 “IMs.” Did these as follows:
4 X (25 Butterfly drill + 25 Backstroke drill + 25 Breaststroke drill) + 100 Free
Change the drills each time.
MAIN SET #1: 300
Swim twice through the following. The pulling and kicking are really EZ. The first 50 is easy speed; the second 50 is fast but not all out.
25 scull with pull buoy + 50 breast kick with no board + 25 scull with pull buoy.
50 Breast
MAIN SET #2: 200
25 scull with pull buoy + 50 breast kick with no board + 25 scull with pull buoy.
4 X 25 Breast on :30 sendoff. Try to hold each 25 at a time that is your target 100 time divided by 4.
WARMDOWN: 200
200 EZ
