This set is designed to push the swimmers technique until they can't hold it anymore. Make sure the intervals reach a level that is right on their edge of ability.
We used the following drill to set up the swims, then the swimmer was supposed to focus on how long they could hold the early catch while the intervals continued to get tougher.
Main Set (short course yards):
- 8 x 25 :30 drill swim
- 6 x 50 on ;45
- 6 x 50 on :40
- 6 x 50 on :35
