IM training gets people fit. While we spend so much time training freestyle, swimming more varied strokes at masters practice helps keep things interesting, and challenging.
Main Set (short course yards)
All the 50s stroke are on the :50, and the 50s kick are on the 1:00
- 50 fly - 50 kick
- 50 fly - 50 back - 2 x 50 kick
- 50 fly - 50 back - 50 breast - 3 x 50 kick
- 50 fly - 50 back - 50 breast - 50 free - 4 x 50 kick
- 200 IM
- 200 kick
Now switch the 50s swim to all freestyle, but lower the interval for the 50s swim.
All the 50s free are no on the :40 and the 50s kick are still on the 1:00
- 50 free - 50 kick
- 2 x 50 free - 2 x 50 kick
- 3 x 50 free - 3 x 50 kick
- 4 x 50 free - 4 x 50 kick
- 200 free
- 200 kick
