Considering that my new training schedule has a break on Wednesday's rather than the weekend, what would naturally seem like the start of the week, is really a struggle to hang on toward the end of the week.
I knew I was going to have trouble with the set the second it came out of the coach's mouth. Thanks to some much younger, and faster swimmers who took pity on me, I was able to hang on and get through it. Drafting became my best friend this morning, and even though I know I wasn't doing all the work myself, it sure was nice to make it through the entire set without stopping. Baby steps right?
Main Set:
2 x 200 on 2:30
3 x 100 on 1:10
4 x 25 on :40 - FAST
Do this set three times through. This set was short course yards, and again, while the intervals may not seem tough to a good young or masters swimmer, getting back into the swing of things is pretty tough, and these are right on the borderline of my ability right now.
