Overloading the legs was the goal today, and from the looks of the team walking to the locker rooms... mission accomplished.

Every once in a while, it's fun to really focus on just one aspect of swimming.  Kicking is for too many, the forgotten tool for swimming fast.  Using a board isolates the legs, and allows for more oxygen so you can work the legs harder.  Those worried about body position in this... if you're that concerned with body position, you're already working on it enough.   A few yards with a board isn't going to destroy your stroke.

Main Set (short course yards):
 - 10 x 50 kick on 1:00
 - 1 x 100 easy swim - your choice of stroke
 - 10 x 50 kick on :55
 - 1 x 100 easy swim - your choice of stroke
 - 10 x 50 kick on :50
 - 1 x 100 easy swim - your choise of stroke

If you really want to overload and work the legs, do the entire set the same kick and set a time goal for yourself.  If you know that you'll need to go at least :45 for the last set of 50's, then start going :45's on the first set, and try to hold all 30 x 50's kick at :45.  Enjoy.
