Swim Pic of the Week - September 30, 2010 - GO NAVY!

For the last few years, I've been fortunate enough to work with the Men and Women of the US Naval Academy Swim Team's.  It's difficult not coaching there anymore, but it's great keeping in touch with the friends I've made.

Everyone knows how I feel about this group of athletes, and how proud I am of each and every one of them.  It's always with mixed emotions when someone graduates and moves on, but when you watch them following their passion, it's incredibly rewarding.

Last week I caught one of the graduated breaststrokers posting some pictures on his Facebook page, and asked if I could post them here.  It's really cool to see how people view water, and it's inspiring to see how someone dedicated to swimming fast transfers the art of swimming, to pure art.

Andrew Utama's study of just how water works is further explained with the video following these pictures.  While maybe not as artsy as his pictures, his relationship with the water certain was intimate.  :)

If you get a chance, make sure you stop by and support Navy Swimming.  Here are links to schedules for both teams.
