06/29/03 Rehearsal for 1-Mile Ocean Swim with GlennI’m going to be doing a 1-mile charity swim with Glenn in Long Island Sound on July 12th, so I wanted to practice swimming the mile with no stops. I did this practice in an outdoor pool, 25 yards, with a good breeze.WARMUP: 400With fins.2 X 200 drill IMs, with fins.STRAIGHT SWIM: 2000Swam 80 lengths freestyle. Held 17 strokes throughout, with flip turns the whole way, which is a major aerobic accomplishment for me. I wasn’t too careful about getting my time, but I was around 32 minutes.100 EZBREASTSTROKE SET: 600With fins, alternated 1 X 25 of Underwater Slinky with Dolphin Kick with 1 X 25 of Body-Dolphin Breast. Continuous swim.100 EZBREASTSTROKE SPEED SET: 1004 X 25 breast on :30 sendoff, trying to hold :20. It was hard to see the clock, but I think I went :20 :21 :21 :21.WARMDOWN: 200 EZTotal Yardage: 3500
