Hotels & Attractions for the Bison/Go Swim Summer Camp 2005

If you need a hotel room before, during, or after our 2005 Bison/Go Swim Summer Camps, here are some suggestions in the Lewisburg area -- and links to attractions you might want to visit.

The Country Cupboard. Probably the nicest accomodation at a reasonable rate. Located off Rte. 15 and 1 mile from the Bucknell campus, this hotel offers a quiet and relaxing place to stay. The hotel has given us the following group rates:
$98.99/night for a room with 1 king-sized bed and 1 double bed
$162/night for a suite with 1 king-sized bed and 1 double bed

Days Inn, Lewisburg. Modestly priced accomodations. Located on Rte.15 and only a few blocks from campus. Route 15 has a large volume of truck traffic, which might be a problem for light sleepers. The rates for Days Inn, Lewisburg, can be found online here.

Lewisburg Hotel. The nicest accomodations that Lewisburg has to offer. Located at the end of historic Main Street in Lewisburg. This is The Ritz of Central Pennsylvania. To reserve a room, call (570) 523-7800.

Attractions
Central Pennsylvania has many acres of beautiful woods and parks, and is the ideal getaway from the city. For a comprehensive listing, check out this website. One that you might want to visit is the R B Winter State Park, which offers hiking through the hillsides of the Susquehanna Valley.

There are two theme parks located near Bucknell. The world famous Hershey Park is an hour and a half away. Knoebels amusement park is a shorter ride but a little smaller. You can get more information at here. If you are into reptiles, Clyde Peelings Reptiland is only minutes away on Rte. 15. Last but not least, Williamsport, PA, is home of the Little League Museum and baseball diamond. This is the annual site of the only true World Series in baseball.

Lewisburg is not a thriving metropolis, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in character. It is small-town America at its best.
