Ugh... starting blocks mean fast is required, and pain is inevitable.
Some smooth swimming mixed with some fast swimming from the blocks. The smooth swimming is on an interval which requires the swimmers keep moving at a decent pace to keep the heart rate up just a bit.
Main Set (short course yards):
• 5 x 75 on :55 smooth - the blocks were at the other end, so this was designed to have the swimmers end up at that end.
• 6 x 25 - odds from the blocks (interval is approximately :45)
• 4 x 100 on 1:20 - smooth
• 4 x 50 - fast from the blocks - best stroke
• 3 x 200 on 2:45 - smooth
• 2 x 100 - fast from the blocks - best stroke
Nice morning set to get the swimmers used to swimming fast early.
