New Go Swim Summer Camp!

WHERE: Chesapeake College in Wye Mills, Maryland (Eastern Shore)

WHEN: August 8-12, 2005

We are pleased to announce a Go Swim summer day camp open to competitive swimmers age 9 and older. We will cover technique in all four strokes, plus starts, turns, pushoffs, dryland, and more. The goal of the camp is to introduce new skills and to refine all of the important aspects of competitive swimming. We ask that swimmers have basic knowledge of all four strokes prior to the start of camp.

The camp is at the end of summer. If youve just finished your summer with a big meet, there no better time to start making the technique improvements that will carry you forward into the fall/winter season. If this was your first or second summer of competition, our camp will build on your enthusiasm and commitment to keep improving and to keep getting FASTER. The camp will help you improve your racing skills, no matter what level youve achieved. You will be able to work on specific areas that you feel need improvement.

Camp Directors will be Glenn Mills and Judson Aungst. They will blend traditional teaching methods such as drills and lap swimming with fun and inventive ways to use pool tools. They will also use non-conventional methods to get you to THINK about stroke technique and racing technique, and to help you explore different ranges for each stroke. They will make sure that you have funand that you are challenged mentally and physically at every session. Guest coaches will be announced as camp date approaches.

The camp hours are 10:30 to 4:30. Each day includes two 2-hour pool sessions, for a total of four hours each day. Campers are responsible for bringing lunch and any snacks they may want. Tuition for the week is $350 (this does not include lunch). Register Here. For additional information, call 410-643-9435 or e-mail Judson.

If you are coming from out of town, we suggest that you reserve a motel room as soon as possible. Several helpful resources for finding reasonable accommodations are AAA, travelocity, hotwire, and hotels.com. The college is not far from historic Annapolis, which offers plenty for the family to see and do while not swimming. Chesapeake College is located at 1000 College Drive, Wye Mills, MD 21679. Their website is http://www.chesapeake.edu/

Spaces are limited and will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis.
