Barbara Hummel held numerous age-group national records in swimming and is a veteran of two Olympic Trials, ten marathons, and many triathlons. In 1998 she transferred 20+ years of book-editing experience to a career in swimming. For the past 10 years she has helped create articles, newsletters, books, and videos for swimmers. She has also taught swimming technique at dozens of clinics across the US, and has directed two weeklong technique camps for triathletes. She is a USA Triathlon Level I Certified Coach, as well as head coach of a Masters team and assistant coach of a USS team in New Hampshire. She is committed to making swimming technique easy to understand and easy to use.
As a Masters swimmer, Barbara has won numerous national championships, and holds two national records (200 LCM Breast and 50 LCM Breast). She is currently ranked among the top four breaststrokers in the world in her age group (55-59), and is world Top-Ten in the 400 IM.
Barbara lives in Vermont, where she does much of her training in a 20-yard pool.
